Code injection vulnerability in Avira Total Security Suite 15.0 (and earlier), Optimization Suite 15.0 (and earlier), Internet Security Suite 15.0 (and earlier), and Free Security Suite 15.0 (and earlier) allows a local attacker to bypass a self-protection mechanism, inject arbitrary code, and take full control of any Avira process via a "DoubleAgent" attack. One perspective on this issue is that (1) these products do not use the Protected Processes feature, and therefore an attacker can enter an arbitrary Application Verifier Provider DLL under Image File Execution Options in the registry; (2) the self-protection mechanism is intended to block all local processes (regardless of privileges) from modifying Image File Execution Options for these products; and (3) this mechanism can be bypassed by an attacker who temporarily renames Image File Execution Options during the attack.

Page 1 / 1Unspecified vulnerability in the arclib component in the Anti-Virus engine in CA Anti-Virus for the Enterprise (formerly eTrust Antivirus) 7.1 through r8.1; Anti-Virus 2007 (v8) through 2009; eTrust EZ Antivirus r7.1; Internet Security Suite 2007 (v3) through Plus 2009; and other CA products allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via a crafted RAR archive file that triggers stack corruption, a different vulnerability than CVE-2009-3587.
Unspecified vulnerability in the arclib component in the Anti-Virus engine in CA Anti-Virus for the Enterprise (formerly eTrust Antivirus) 7.1 through r8.1; Anti-Virus 2007 (v8) through 2009; eTrust EZ Antivirus r7.1; Internet Security Suite 2007 (v3) through Plus 2009; and other CA products allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service and possibly execute arbitrary code via a crafted RAR archive file that triggers heap corruption, a different vulnerability than CVE-2009-3588.
vetmonnt.sys in CA Internet Security Suite r3, vetmonnt.sys before 9.0.0.184 in Internet Security Suite r4, and vetmonnt.sys before 10.0.0.217 in Internet Security Suite r5 do not properly verify IOCTL calls, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (system crash) via a crafted call.
The AV engine before DAT 5600 in McAfee VirusScan, Total Protection, Internet Security, SecurityShield for Microsoft ISA Server, Security for Microsoft Sharepoint, Security for Email Servers, Email Gateway, and Active Virus Defense allows remote attackers to bypass virus detection via (1) an invalid Headflags field in a malformed RAR archive, (2) an invalid Packsize field in a malformed RAR archive, or (3) an invalid Filelength field in a malformed ZIP archive.
Unspecified vulnerability in the kmxfw.sys driver in CA Host-Based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) r8, as used in CA Internet Security Suite and Personal Firewall, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service via unknown vectors, related to "insufficient validation."
The kmxfw.sys driver in CA Host-Based Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) r8, as used in CA Internet Security Suite and Personal Firewall, does not properly verify IOCTL requests, which allows local users to cause a denial of service (system crash) or possibly gain privileges via a crafted request.
arclib.dll before 7.3.0.9 in CA Anti-Virus (formerly eTrust Antivirus) 8 and certain other CA products allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (infinite loop and loss of antivirus functionality) via an invalid "previous listing chunk number" field in a CHM file.
Stack-based buffer overflow in the Anti-Virus engine before content update 30.6 in multiple CA (formerly Computer Associates) products allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code via a large invalid value of the coffFiles field in a .CAB file.
The (1) VetMONNT.sys and (2) VetFDDNT.sys drivers in CA Anti-Virus 2007 8.1, Anti-Virus for Vista Beta 8.2, and CA Internet Security Suite 2007 v3.0 do not properly handle NULL buffers, which allows local users with administrative access to cause a denial of service (system crash) via certain IOCTLs.
